Mid way into January of 2016 and I’m posting my December favs. I know ….it’s late.
So let’s jump right in, to be honest there’s not really been any new favourites or even old favourites for a while. But towards the end of the year, I found a few products I really loved.

Melano CC Serum was a surprise favourite. I picked it up while out shopping with Nic one day and didn’t think I would love it as much as I do. It’s a vitmin C serum, I’d wanted to try a vitmin C serum for a while, as I’d heard they were really good for improving the surface of your skin. However, the one I’d been thinking of purchasing was expensive, very expensive.
Then I saw Melano CC serum and at 1,800 ish yen, I figured why not? Best purchase of 2015! Without a doubt. I had instant results, I have never had instant result with a skin care product but with this, I honestly noticed a different in my skin. Scar pigmentation had improved noticeably and any spots I had were rapidly healing. Love it!
For a while now I’ve been leaning towards burgundy/copper/rust shadows. Normally I am very much about the cool tones, I’m always drawn to them and I steer very clear of warm toned shadows but recently I just had a craving. Cue Mac’s Burgundy times nine palette, I originally saw this palette a while ago but I didn’t buy it. I was trying to resist but alas I couldn’t stop thinking about it and I went back for it.
No regrets. It’s stunning and contains quite a few shadows that had been on my wish list for a while, such as Antiqued and Star Violet. I’ve loved playing around with it and creating looks. If you follow any of my other social media accounts, you might have noticed me sporting a warmer eye look recently, it’s this palette.

Most of the year my cuticles are dry, but in winter they are especially dry and I constantly have to moisturise my hands. I often neglect my cuticles, as most products are really inconvenient to use, but this product, Uka’s cuticle oil in 24:45 is in a handy roll-on and has helped so much. I am also besotted with the scent, a rich calming lavender, it’s been very comforting during stressful times and before bed.
Contining with the hand care theme, Glysomed fragrance free hand cream has also helped me immensely. I picked this dinky tube up on a whim at Plaza and I’ve really been enjoying using it. It’s not greasy or silicon-y feeling at all and sinks into the skin quickly.

When I have time I always try to check for a new Vivianna does Make Up video on youtube, I love watching her vids and I find myself sharing a lot of similar opinions and desires about make up as her. So when she recommended the Heroine make mascara, I went searching for it. Seeing as it’s a Japanese product and I’m in Japan, you’d think it would have been easy to find, but it wasn’t.
I had to hunt around a bit, but finally I found it. I picked up the Volume & Curl first, thinking that was what I really wanted for my lashes. I liked that but being curious, I had to try the Long & Curl for comparisons sake….it was research, I swear!
Long story short, I love them both! I’ve been using them everyday. Sometimes I mix them together, sometimes I use one on it’s own, sometimes I mix them with other mascaras but mostly I wear the Long & Curl on it’s own.
I like the brush better then the Volume & Curl and I feel like the formula makes my lashes stand out a bit more. NOTE: I have a sneaky suspicion this pink tubed range is being discontinued, since it’s not actually shown on their site and they do have other mascaras with the same name … just a suspicion though.

And that concludes my December Favs.
What were your favourite items for December? Tried any of the ones I’ve mentioned?
