Bye bye 2015 and hello 2016, and with the new year comes all the posts about 2015 favourites of course! So here’s mine.
For me 2015 was the year of my liquid lipstick and greige obsession. But another favourite for the year, were kohl eye pencils.
I never liked pencil liners, never.

Occasionally I would use a coloured one on my lower lash line for a pop of colour, but never on my top lid. But this year, I have been converted and I’ve been wearing them a ton.
In general I prefer liquid liners, as I think they define my eyes better but for a lazy day (which I’ve had far too many of) I’ve been reaching for a pencil liner, and in particular my Bourjois Metallic eyeliner in 52 which is a gorgeous brown but you’ll have to take my word on that as incidentally I didn’t take a photo of it ..doh!

Lips and Eyes

My favourite mascara of the year has to be Heroine Make’s Long & Curl (The Volume & Curl is good too). It’s waterproof and holds a curl fantastically.

For lips, there are so many where do I begin? My favourite lip pencil combo has been Rimmel 002 lip liner with Etude House’s Play pencil in 42 underneath. Love the combo, easy to wear nude with a hint of grey.
As for Liquid lipsticks, my favourite brands were Kat Von D and Sephora, the formulas are just wonderful, long lasting and matt! You can read more about my liquid lipstick collection post here.
Honourable mention to Colourpop’s Trap though, because the colour is so frigging fantastic. The perfect wearable griege!

Nails

A picture says a thousand words and well this photo says it all really, I really liked griege and putty colours in 2015. Well with the odd bottle of glitter thrown in.
My favourite shade I think would have to be Essie’s Chinchilly, I’ve worn it so much! Link is to my post all about it.
A surprising favourite has been Canmake’s base coat, I bought it and honestly didn’t expect to like it that much, since it was very cheap. But it quickly became my favourite base nail product and because of how fanatically it performs, I picked up a top coat and a cuticle oil from Canmake as well.
Skin care,hair care and others

For skin care, I am still loving my Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Balm for cleansing, this is my 4th or 5th bottle of it now. I love the scent and find that it really works for my skin type (combo).
Melano CC serum is a fantastically cheap vitamin C serum, mentioned in my December Favs. And I picked up a dinky Yuskin just before the year ended, I always care it with me so this tiny sized version is perfect for me.
I don’t think I tried many sheet masks last year, even though I have a ton in my cupboard (must use them this year). Two favourites I have repurchased many times though are Hada Labo‘s original series sheet mask and My Beauty Diary masks (any). The Hada Labo is so moisturising and makes my skin feel plump and refreshed. I like to use it when my skin is especially dry, which is usually always in winter.
I don’t have a favourite one from My Beauty Diary, but I love the brand. Most Japanese sheet masks only have one function, moisturising. That’s great but I do want other properties from my sheet masks, not only moisturising. My Beauty Diary offers a range of different masks for different skin types, so you can tailor more to your needs I feel.
Loretta Base Care Oil was actually a 2014 Christmas gift from Siobhan, which I have used almost religiously since she gave it to me. The scent is heavenly and I’m adamant it’s helped tame my frizz. I use 1 to 2 pumps every time I wash my hair, which is about 3 times a week and it still hasn’t run out:O. I will definitely purchase this when it does though.
Speaking of scents, another product I love the scent of is Kneip Gute Nacht bath salts. I’ve come to associate the smell with relaxing and pretty much always use it when I run a bath.
What were your favourites from 2015? Tried any of the products mentioned?
Thank you for reading.
