This week was decidedly quieter than previous weeks, after getting sick the week before I thought it best to take a bit easier this week.

My colleague at work is leaving Japan soon, as she doesn’t have a lot of time left here, we had to squeeze in some events. So on Monday after work, we headed out for Karaoke. As I had a little extra time in the morning,  I decided to do some purple eye make. For karaoke, we belted out a mixture of rock, pop, xmas songs and some cheese. It was a wonderful memorable night.

Tuesday was a meet up event in Shibuya, with Nicola, StasiaKathryn, Ashley, Siobhan and Madeleine. Dinner was at Shower lounge, since it was a Tuesday it was very quiet but that turned out to be perfect for us as it meant we could chat without screaming at each other. The interior was fantastically stylish and the food was actually really delicious and reasonable priced.

In the morning on Thursday I went coat shopping, I hate winter coat shopping. It took me forever to find the one I accidentally left in the UK last xmas. I hated that coat but it still took me ages to find it.

Anyways, as I am one of the most indecisive people ever, I naturally took photos of me wearing the coats I found and sent them to Ksk and twitter, for help with picking. The grey one seems to be almost everyones choice. And I intended to go back on Friday and get it….

After work I met up with a friend for a pie date at the Meguro Tavern, they sell one of the best pies in Tokyo in my opinion. It was a lovely evening of catching up and of course eating pie.

My colleague surprised us with Glögg (Swedish mulled wine) and biscuits on Friday, since we were at work we only had a little but it was delicious and really put me in a Christmas mood.

After work, I had intended to buy the grey coat from Thursdays shopping finds, however I ended up in a different shop, where I found a similarly styled coat but much better quality. So I bought that one instead, and I love it.  On my way home, I found Vennietta  in my local supermarket for the first time, when I was a child whenever we had a special dinner, we always had a Vennietta. Ahh nostalgic.

Saturday, Ksk and I had no idea where we wanted to go that day. We finally decided on Jiyugaoka, only to change our minds once we got on the train. So we ended up going to Futako-Tamagawa, which is a few stops after Jiyugaoka.  I had never been there before and I was pleasantly surprised once we got there. The station area is new and full of restaurants and shops, and on that day they had a Christmas market:D. It was just a shame it was bitterly cold that day.

For dinner, we decided to try a little Mediterranean place we found, unfortunately they only had seats in the smoking area ( I detest the smoking areas of restaurants here, they ruin the food) but despite that, it was an awesome place, food was delicious, staff were friendly and the deco was beautiful.

Finally Sunday I had planned to meet up with some ex-ALT coworkers for roast dinner at the Meguro Tavern, in the end we ended up spending nearly 7 hours there just chatting and catching up. It was the perfect end to the week.

What would be your karaoke song of choice? Mine is always a 80’s or 90’s classic. I am not so familiar with newer pop songs. My go to song is either Backstreet boys or Journey.

Thank you for reading,

Alanna
