Essie in Chinchilly

Last week while browsing my local Essie display I spotted this shade called Chinchilly.
Around Christmas I saw this photo on Instagram and started looking up similar coloured polishes and finally found Essie’s Chinchilly. I then went to my nearest Plaza intent on getting it, and it wasn’t there any more and there wasn’t even a space in the display for it. This made me think it had only been released as a seasonal colour in Japan, until I spotted it recently and wasted no time in purchasing it, I had missed out on it once, I wasn’t going to miss out again.

This is my current favourite polish, it’s a dove grey with purple undertones. It’s gorgeous and I feel it’s such a unique colour. I don’t own anything similar, and the purple undertones gives it an edge over a regular grey polish in my opinion. Some lights it looks grey, some it’s more purple.

I used 3 coats of Chinchilly over the top of O.P.I’s start to finish polish, I used the O.P.I as a top coat too. It applies pretty smoothly but I needed 3 coats to get it looking even, as I felt it looked a bit patchy in place.
I painted my nails on Sunday night and after about four days they were still looking good, slight wear on the edges of some of the nails. Overall though, I am very impressed with Essie as a brand, all of the polishes I have from them have great formulas, last well, are easy to apply and they have so many interesting colours.
What’s your current favourite polish?
Thank you for reading,
