Nearly three weeks into June and I’m finally posting my most loved from May :o.

There isn’t many this month, as I was a bit busy.

With the warmer sunnier weather, I’ve been wearing sunglasses more and I wanted to pick up a light framed pair for this summer. While in Monki, I found this pair and they have been my go to pair for May (and June). They’re ice pink and matte, which gives them a lovely retro feel and thankfully, they don’t make me look sick.

So I bought some new sunnies this month, and I also picked up a new concealer. MAC’s Studio Conceal and Correct Duo.

Even though I do understand colour theory (somewhat), strange coloured concealers have always intimidated and scared me a little. The idea of putting bright purple or blue on your face just seems a bit crazy, and I can never imagine how it will blend out.

Anyway, while watching a Pixiewoo video they mentioned this product and how the pale yellow side was good for redness and the salmon colour for under eye circles. Well since I hadn’t been sleeping so great, I had developed more darker under eye circles than usual. But the primary reason I picked it up was for covering redness.

For the last year or so, I’ve been trying  to cover a bright red burst vein on my nose. NONE of my concealers would do the job. In summer nothing stays on my face but I have been very surprised at how well this product neutralises my red and purple areas on my face. I do still have to use a concealer on top, but it’s so much easier to cover now.

I have been using it everyday since I got it, with some Bourjois healthy mix concealer over the top and a touch of powder to set. Love it, even though it’s not cheap at 3,240 yen.

I haven’t studied Japanese for a while, so I’ve been trying to review and go over old books I have (I ‘m a Japanese text book hoarder). Which made me realised how much I like the style of this book.

It’s a review book mostly, but the reason I like it is that it’s broken up in to bite sized pieces. Over the course of 4 weeks, for 20 minutes a day you answer questions about grammar, vocabulary and characters (kanji etc) with minimal English. It’s published by ASK publishing, the same people who publish Nihongo so matome (those JLPT books with the owls, mice etc on the cover ). One of my favourite publishers.

I like this book because it shows me my weak points, so that I can studying those areas more and the layout is very clear and easy to follow. As it’s broken up over the space of 4 weeks, it’s easier to manage in my opinion and best of all it wasn’t too expensive, at 1,200 yen.

And finally, a product I’m still shocked by. I often skip the base for my nails, but never skip the top coat. When my O.P.I Start to finish ran out many moons ago, I went hunting for something to hold the fort in the meantime.

I didn’t want to spend a lot, which lead me in the direction of Canmake, Japan’s affordable, good quality drug store cosmetic brand. I have a few products by them, but their nail polishes have really blown me away. They cost about 300- 400 yen  and are shockingly quite good, especially for the price. For May, I picked up the base coat, since my CND polish is a bit so so, I needed something to help it stick and this does just the job.

What impressed me the most though, was how long it made my nail polish last. In conjunction with the top coat, my polishes are lasting nearly a week!! That is a freaking long time for me, so I am very happy with this purchase.

Anyone tried any of these products? What did you think?

Thank you for reading.
