September Favourites.

Writer: Alanna KAlanna K

I haven’t posted a favourites post for over 2 months now, but summer just took it out of me and to be quite honest, there weren’t many different products I really loved.

Anyway, let’s dive right in.

Seeing so many people rocking griege lips, I really wanted to try it but it’s not easy to get hold of the same liquid lipsticks as a lot of the people I saw were wearing. That was until I stumbled upon Etude House’s Play 101 pencil in #42, which is a greyish brown. It’s supposed to be used as an eyebrow pencil but I have been using it as a lip colour.

On it’s own it gives you corpse lips, which I kinda like but it’s not for everyone. Well, I do have a thing for griege after all. But by far my favourite way to wear this pencil is on top of my Rimmel Exaggerate lip pencil in 002.    Which warms up the colour but don’t make it too pink.

As for bases, I have two that I love. At the height of summer I pretty much only wore Macchia Label (my tubes dirty, sorry). This was give to me by Nic, and I actually thought it was a tinted moisturiser but it’s not. It is a foundation, coverage is buildable and shockingly it  survived Japanese summer pretty well. Most of my bases just melt off my face within half an hour of hot humid Tokyo summer but this really does last on me.

Next base, is Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Fluid. I originally wanted to try the reformulated Silk creme but they didn’t have it. So I ended up with a sample of the Smooth finish fluid instead, which I actually really like. I find it really does give me a smooth finish, and I like the coverage, it’s not too matte or heavy either. Even better, I’ve had quite a lot of compliments about radiant skin while wearing this one. So I am certainly tempted to purchase a full sized bottle.

Clear shower sheet? What’s that you might be wondering? Ag+ Shower Sheet in Fresh Savon, isn’t  a product designed for you to skip showering, it’s actually a refreshing sheet. Which if you’ve ever experienced Japanese summer, you will definitely understand the need for refreshing sheets. Basically it’s humid as hell! And within 10 minutes of leaving your house, you’ll feel like you need a shower, actually sometimes I feel like that while I’m in the process of getting ready it’s that hot.

These are a god send! I particularly like this scent as it’s not too over powering or girly. While I do like girly scents, overly sweet or floral scents can be too much sometimes. This just smells of soap, and is really refreshing to use.

I received the I ❤ makeup’s Selfie palette from Danniella ages ago in a swap, but I’ve found myself reaching for it a lot lately. It’s mostly all sparkly but being a glasses wearer I find sparkly/shimmer shadows make my eyes stand out a lot more. It’s a great palette to take when traveling as it’s compact but still has rather a lot of shades to chose from.  I love the four darkest shade the most but I find I wear all the shades usually in some kind of combination.

Lastly, Kat Von D’s Everlasting liquid lipstick in A-Go-Go. I got this a few months back and have be reaching for it a lot over the summer. I love liquid lipsticks and this one smells amazing, lasts well and the colour is amazing! I’ll say more in my full post about my liquid lipstick collection soon :D.

Thank you for reading.
