Top 5 lipsticks

I had a hard job narrowing down my selections for top 5, but I am happy with my choices.

And in no particular order…
First up is YSL Rouge Pur Couture, I mentioned this before in my November favourites. It is my favourite nude and one of my most used lipsticks and I am nearly running out (as you can see from the photo). I adore the packaging, it’s elegant and weighty. The lipstick itself is creamy but not as creamy as the rouge volputes, which have the tendency to slide around. Staying power isn’t great but it’s such a delight to apply it doesn’t bother me at all. Both my YSL lipsticks have a melon scent. (Shade pictured is #6 Rose /rouge Bergamasque )

Next we have a newer addition to my collection ( Thank you Danniella), it’s Bourjois’s Rouge edition velvet. The colour is stunning but what I love about this is the formula, it applies smoothly, evenly and dries down to a matte finish but it’s not too drying. I’ll definitely be checking out more of these. (Shade pictured is Ping Pong)

Then we have NARS lip pencil, this one is in Cruella but I like all of the ones I have. As they are easy to use, gorgeous formula and colours.

I own 8 of the Revlon Colourburst Balms but Shameless is my favourite colour at the moment (Also from my swap with Danniella). It’s a stunning purple shade, matte formula but not as drying as other matte formulas I own. But I love all of my Revlon Colourburst Balms, so I highly recommend you check them out. As there are colours and finishes for everyone I think.

Finally possible my absolute favourite, MAC Retro Matte finishes lipsticks. This one is Relentlessly Red, I also now own Ruby Woo too and what I love about the RM finish it that it is insanely long lasting and well as the name says, retro matte. It always gives me this 1940s vintage feeling, which I think is gorgeous.
It is very drying but I would say that this formula is my absolute favourite amongst all of my lipsticks.

You will probably have noticed a common trait to all these lipsticks, they are all mostly matte. Ah what can I say, I love matte lipsticks the most, especially if it’s a bright lip. I find it’s easier to wear and less worrisome if your bright bold lip is done in a matte. Saves you from worrying about the dread ring where your lippy has worn off.
What are your top 5 lipsticks?
Thank you for reading,
Alanna
