Week in photos #11 – The national holiday

Monday the 12th was a national holiday in Japan, it’s such a relief that Japan has so many holiday, considering most people only get between 10 and 20 days a year (UK is 25 or 28 days).

So Ksk and I took this opportunity to visit the shrine nearest us for the first time so Ksk could pray this is called Hatsumode in Japanese. Afterwards we headed towards Amemaria Espresso in Musashi Koyama, for a long over due visit. Since our last visit they’re coffee has only improved:D.

Japanese lessons started again on Tuesday, despite it being a gorgeous sunny day I still felt quite stressed about attending lessons again. I think I’ve forgotten so much, so as a reward I visited one of my favourite bakeries for olive bread on the way home. I adore olives. Delicious olive bread!

Wednesday was quiet, since Ksk went to Osaka, I wasn’t feeling so well so I opted to messed around with make up and catch up on shows.

It rained nearly all day Thursday, which seem to reflect the mood of most people I came into contact with that say. The evening brought about a work event which ended with me drinking my drinks far too fast and on a relatively empty stomach. Rookie mistake.

On Friday I paid for the previous nights excessive drinking with a lovely hangover. Needless to say it didn’t feel like a productive day. Ksk returned in the evening and cheered me up.

I had the laziest Saturday in the longest time, I read, slept and in the evening Ksk and I attempted to visit a new kaiten sushi place but it had a ginormous queue like iPhone release day ginormous…ok maybe not that long, but longer then we’d care to wait. So in the end we just went to a izakaya nearby, for sashimi and yakitori.

I feel slightly embarrassed to admit it but I had another roast dinner on Sunday. This time I met up with Siobhan and Nicola. After our delicious meal, Siobhan told us that Magnolia Bakery had a pop up shop in Shinagawa, so naturally we went to check it out. I picked up a peanut butter cupcake, which was actually rather good considering I don’t like cupcakes.

British food has such a bad reputation, personally I think it’s rather unjust, but what do you think of British food?
