One of the things I both love and hate about Japan is omiyage (souvenirs). Upon arriving at work on Monday 6th April, I found my coworker had bought back these Momiji manjus from his travels. I pick the Anko (red bean) paste one, I’m not a massive fan of Anko flavour but this one was good. I think I’m ok with smooth anko but chucky anko is horrible.

Wednesday was Rex Manning day, so I dressed in my most 90’s Liv Tyler inspired outfit (and forgot to take a full length photo :O) and met with Kathryn for coffee and chats. I took her to one of my favourite cafes to try their seasonal offering of Sakura Chai latte. Spring = sakura flavoured everything in Japan (well, maybe not everything), Starbucks came out with a Carmel sakura latte, which I had a sip of and enjoyed but overall I think it would have been too sweet and sickly if I had had a full sized one to myself. Where as Lattest’s drink was perfect in my opinion, the Chai complimented the Sakura and it was not too sweet and very pleasant to drink. Afterward I finally managed to pick up a nice iPad cover from Flying Tiger, it’s of onion slices in case anyone was confused. We finished the evening off with burgers from The Great Burger … that a big name to live up to. How great were thy? Well that’s a story for another post :D.

Saturday was one of the bi-annual reunion dinners as Mitsu was visiting, so Siobhan, Nicola, Madeline, Mitsu and myself went to Lotus for drinks and dinner. Delicious food and the evening was filed with many laughs as usual :D. For the evening, I chose to wear Mac Satin Taupe and Mac Gunner lipstick.
I’ll admit, I only put the lipstick on after my dinner, when I was feeling a little braver. I have no problems wearing a bright pink or red but this is the first very unusual coloured lipstick I’ve wore. While I do have some purple lipsticks, none are this “purple” haha.

I’ve been to Tokyo Disney land twice but I had only been to Disney sea once. Disney Sea is definitely my favourite park though and on Sunday, I went with some of the girls from work. After nearly a week of rain, it was really refreshing and lucky that it was super sunny that day. I actually managed to ride on more rides than the first time I visited.

And how was your week?
Thank you for reading,
Alanna
