Another week and another post.

I’d planned to have a picnic on Saturday 6th June, but those plans were ruined by the epic rain fall the night before. Everyone, including myself thought the ground would be too waterlogged, but ironically, the weather was pretty good that day :O. So, no picnic, however the evening was Madeleine’s birthday. But it didn’t start well, with me falling down the stairs on the way to meet everyone and then the restaurant staff were kinda of crappy and unprofessional, despite this, it was still a fabulously fun evening, with lots of laughs.

Ksk didn’t have work on Sunday, so we took his work car for a drive, picking up ramen at Ksk’s old favourite place….it was soso ramen though. The plan was to go to Blue Bottle coffee but once we got there and saw the long ass line, we high tailed it back to the car and drove to Sarutahiko Coffee instead, haha.  I really hate queuing for ridiculous amounts of time for food and coffee, and Japanese people seems to love queuing for 3 or 4 hours for something they saw on TV or heard was good.

Once caffeinated, we headed toward Ikea. We took the scenic route, which was surprisingly green and I really felt at peace even though we really weren’t that far out of Tokyo. When living in a busy, bustling city begins to takes it toll on your mental wellbeing , it really is so wonderful to just get away from it all, even if you’re only just outside of the city.

Tuesday I met with Nicole for coffee, I’m not sure how long we’ve been internet friends but it was lovely to finally meet her and we ended up being so busy chatting, I forgot to take any photos! And in the evening, I saw the most beautiful go all Tokyo sunsets, Japan in general has some stunning sunsets but this one really took the biscuit.

On Wednesday, I met with Georgie, and once again, being totally engrossed in conversation, I forgot to take any photos. After my little unexpected blogging/ internet break, I think I’ve gotten out of the habit of taking photos of everything :O. It was great to chat with another Brit in Tokyo, and hear another’s Japan tales :D.

Ksk and I made pizza’s at home on Thursday. Doesn’t look anything special but it really was delicious!

Finally, we had a work lunch on Friday at a Korean BBQ buffet place (I forget the name), it was so delicious and I was full until dinner time, which is super unusual for me!

I’ll end this post with the new Haagen-Dazs summer flavours that have just come on sale here in Tokyo, and an important question; what is the best ice cream flavour???

Thank you for reading.
