Started the week with a visit to the doctor’s clinic.  Apart from visiting the immigration office, there is nothing I hate more than going to the doctors clinic in Japan.

For my sore throat and hacking cough, the doctor prescribed me some horrific Chinese medicine which thankfully seemed to work. Allergy? illness? I still have no idea.

After a restful Saturday, Sunday was an epic day. Ksk, his best friend and I had a lovely leisurely wander passed hydrangeas, sleeping dogs and graffiti.

I got asked to help out with a kaiten sushi compietition (conveyer belt) on Tuesday. A lot of the day was spent waiting and trying to stay awake, but in the end it was a really fun and interesting day.

My role for the day? I had to pretend I didn’t understand any Japanese and act as a customer to the competitor. I was surprised to find that I had lines to learn and even more surprised to find that the competition was held on a stage …in front of an audience and film crews:O. But at the end of the night, there was an after party were we served the most amazing Toro sushi (one of the fattest and most delicious part of the tuna)  I’ve ever had!

Thursday, I was back at the Shinagawa immigration office, what joy :/. I think this time I ended up waiting about 5 hours just to pick up my visa…..so unimpressed. Afterwards, feeling drained and pissed off I tried my hand at Gudetama lottery…and lost? Well I didn’t win the adorable gudetama plushies, so I’m taking it as a loss.

Still feeling sad, I picked up an expensive:( but delicious hummus wrap. NO regrets.

Lunch was spent with Stasia at TGI FRIDAYS on Friday and with Ksk was away, the evening was a movie and mint pocky kinda night.  I cannot resist mint chocolate and Empire Records always makes me happy.

What’s your favourite nostalgic movie?

Thanks for reading.
